Raised in and around their parents’ family pizzeria, the famous Tratoria Elena (named after their mother), in Vienna, VA in the early 70s, Ilias Kanakos & Anastasia Katsakos are no strangers to the high-pressure, high excitement world of food. This brother and sister team has leveraged their Greek background, solid work ethic and passion for creating—and recreating—the great fun, authentic food and festive atmosphere in which they grew up to build a catering business worthy of their heritage.
In the 1990s, Ilias and Anastasia opened and operated four corporate cafes, while earning their undergraduate and graduate degrees. Their team consisted of more than 40 expertly-trained individuals, who possessed the same strong work ethic and values as those instilled in the siblings. Most importantly, the team shared a passion for food and desire to impress their clients.
Their success in the café/retail business led to the establishment of Atrium Catering and Design, based in Herndon, VA and operating in and around the D.C. Metropolitan area.
